Stitcher's Story

I learned to crochet and sew as a sophomore in high school from my elder sister, Joan. Mother often gave helpful hints but I mostly remember my older sisters helping me. I never felt as though I had perfected the skill of sewing until much later in life, when I sewing my own uniforms and had several nurses ask me to do some for them. This was the first time I had encouragement to do this as a serious business. Not being of the business mindset, I continued to sew and crochet for pleasure. However, now that I find myself married to the first love of my life and living in southern France, without the possibility of transferring professional licenses, this is the perfect time to develop a business utilizing my creative talents.

Along with custom work, I can finish projects you may have started but can't find the time to pull out the sewing machine, get it threaded and then the needle is in backwards or the tension is out of whack, again, but hate to see the project go to waste. Oh yes, and don't forget all those pesky threads and pins that somehow find their way on to your hubby's black suit coat or into his big toe. I even love to repair zippers from your favorite pair of jeans.
